A few updates for 2026!
Happy New Year to all readers of this newsletter! I hope you had a great holiday season.
We had both an exciting and busy end to 2025, welcoming our third child into the world! My wife and baby are both doing well - we’re excited to start 2026 as a family of five!
In the first newsletter this year, I want to give a brief update on what I have planned for OBG Access.
Welcoming the arrival of Arin Varma
Educational Content
I’ll continue to share insights from our journey building a medical device business in obstetrics, in the hopes to inspire and educate other founders on a similar journey.
I plan to record some short-form video content to share specific lessons. The topics here will be broad - examples might include:
Navigating Value Analysis Committees
Engaging with potential strategic partners
Considering direct sales vs. distribution
Valuation considerations
Exit planning
I’ll also document specific case studies on US hospital groups that I’ve worked with over the years to give real world experience on how we were able to obtain approval for our device.
I know it would be hugely valuable to share my experience and the practical steps you might consider.
Commercial Tools
I’m putting the final touches on my OBG Access Commercial Platform, with the first users to be onboarded during Q1. I shared key features within the platform in last month’s newsletter.
I believe this will be a valuable practical tool that offers a smarter, faster way for women’s health and obstetric medical-device companies to commercialize their product in the US market.
My goal was to create a central hub that offers access to our experience, insights, and commercial network - built over many years.
Features include: a curated US hospital directory (including OBGYN decision makers); a pipeline tracker to manage activities; a sales & distributor directory; and a commercial resources hub.
More Connections: Between Founders & Clinicians
In 2026, I’d like to connect more founders directly with clinicians in my network. What might you achieve?
Early feedback on a new idea for a medical device
Identifying early research opportunities or collaboration
Recruiting clinicians and KOLs to join your advisory board
Introducing a commercially available device for use in their facility
I plan to be in the US multiple times this year and have started planning for an in-person event in New York.
My goal here is to host a roundtable dinner with key clinicians in the city to introduce some of the latest innovations in their field.
Expanding the OBG Access Team: Intern Role
I am looking for an intern (either based in the UK or US) to support me with the growing OBG Access business. If you know anyone in your network that might be interested, I’d be glad to set up an intro call to share more details. To give a very brief overview of what I’m looking for:
About the Role: Join a fast-paced consulting and commercialisation business working with early-stage and emerging women’s health and obstetric medical device startups pursuing US market adoption. This role will blend:
Client-facing go-to-market support;
Platform and data infrastructure development; and
Marketing, social presence, and light business development work.
You’ll gain hands-on experience operating inside the commercial side of medical devices while helping build tools that will scale to support dozens of founders.
Health2Tech Events - 24 Feb London Launch!

I’m excited to announce that I'm partnering with Health2Tech to bring their series of events to London. I'll also be the first guest speaker, sharing our story from concept to exit. This will be an evening for founders, clinicians, operators, and investors.
We're hosting our first event in London on 24th February evening. See below for more details on this exciting event. You can register directly here.
Why should you attend?
Hear from thought leaders and innovators in the healthcare domain (at every event, we'll have a new set of speakers)
Connect with peers, potential collaborators, investors, and mentors
Participate in engaging Q&A sessions and discussions that can spark new ideas, opportunities and connections
We're hosting our first event in London on 24th February evening, at the Amazon UK Corporate Office in Holborn (location details available on the events page).
I'll be the first speaker, sharing the story behind our company Safe Obstetric Systems where we developed and commercialised a medical device (Fetal Pillow) for use in difficult C Section cases.
I'll share details of our journey as a bootstrapped company that launched a medical device into the NHS before expanding into several European countries.
We obtained FDA clearance in late 2017 which marked the start of our US chapter, an area I'll focus on as it was critical to our commercial success and set the foundation for our exit.
Early traction in the US market led to our company being acquired by a global leader in medical devices, CooperSurgical.
I'll share my personal experience of taking our company through an exit and what I believe were the factors that led to strategic interest.
I'll share this story in the hopes to both educate and inspire others on a similar journey. Have your questions ready!
What can you expect from each event?
Meet like-minded individuals who are actively shaping the health tech landscape
Share experiences, discuss challenges, and explore potential solutions with fellow founders
Learn from the journeys of other entrepreneurs, discover something new, seek advice, and perhaps find the mentor or partner you've been looking for
Who Should Attend?
Health Tech Founders at various stages of their startup journey
Healthcare Professionals who are passionate about health innovation (and might have an idea they want to pursue)
Investors looking to make impactful contributions to the digital health and MedTech spaces
You can register for the event for free using the link below. Spaces will be limited. Any questions, feel free to email me directly.

Hopefully we can build out a similar level of engagement in another great city full of energy!

A reminder that the OBG Access Platform is now live
This platform has been built from real-world experience launching an obstetric innovation into the US market, before being acquired by an industry leader.
It brings together the datasets, contacts, and tools that founders typically take years to build - and makes them available from day one.
If you’d like a demo, please reply to this email to register your interest.
I’ve started scheduling meetings where I’ll take you through through the platform and answer any specific questions you might have.
Together, let’s accelerate innovation in women’s health!
All the best,
Nish
